Adopt-a-Block is the heart beat of the Atlanta Dream Center.
The Old 4th Ward, where the Dream Center is established, is known for drugs, prostitution and poverty stricken families. Every week volunteers go out into the 4th ward to meet the practical and spiritual needs of the people. Volunteers meet together outside the Dream Center offices for worship, an encouraging word and instructions. They break off into teams and go out into the neighborhood with grocieries, trash bags and the Love of Christ. Praying for people and spreading the joy of salvation with whom ever they come into contact with. Kids and adults alike wait anxiously for volunteers to come to thier doors. Being in the bible belt many people have lost hope in the church. But adopt-a-block is bringing that hope back by getting out to where the real hurting are at. What started as a couple of people meeting together every saturday has turned into an interdenominational weekly event. Churches from all over Georgia and across the US come and unite together for one cause, to make Christ known through action. Adopt-a-block is changing the old 4th ward and the city of Atlanta one block at a time. Come and be apart of changing someones life for Christ through love and servanthood.
